JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. - The Colorado Department of Transportation tells 7NEWS they will install concrete barriers on a dangerous stretch of Highway 285 near Shaffers Crossing.

CDOT plans to install 700-foot of the concrete barriers in the area, officials said. The project will be paid for with highway safety/improvement funds.

However, it may take a few weeks for the barriers to be installed. The project has to go out for bids, then work will begin after a contractor is chosen.
