Not a surprise since there are more people hiking and the do not respect the mountains. ATVs having been tearing up the mountains for years.

KUSA - Forty-two of Colorado's 54 fourteeners could be in jeopardy due to hikers abusing some peaks - endangering trails, according to the nonprofit Colorado 14ers Initiative.

The 14er Report Card article in June's 5280 Magazine sparked a discussion and a worry about Colorado's greatest peaks. The Colorado 14er Initiative is releasing their official 14er Report Card this week. The report will talk about the problems each peak faces due to avid hikers and tourists constantly climbing them.

Sad. And the aroma wafting off of some of them from bathroom breaks along the way with no bathrooms is often overwhelming. Best to go on cooler days and get an early start so that the aroma doesn't waft so badly.

It upsets me because there are so many mountains getting torn up because there are more and more people and they need to respect them.

If you kill a flower at 10,000 ft it takes years to grow back.

Trails are there for a reason.
The state can fix them it just costs money which will passed on to us. Save us all some money and stay on the trails.
