Press the Upload now button and your picture will be uploaded to the ImageShack servers.

When the image is fully uploaded, you will see this screen:

That's all! Hit submit and you should see your photo. If you do not leave the code and pm 285 bound or email pictures@285bound.com and we will fix it for you as long as the link is there. Now you have uploaded an image from ImageShack hosting.

Imageshack changed their policy some time back, changing to requiring users to register in order to use them. It's easy and free to register for an account on Imageshack, and they will also email you links to all of the images that you upload so you don't have to go back and re-upload them if you wish to use them again (they don't label them though, so you have to know which image link is for what image). The great thing about Imageshack is that they accept all image file types (jpg, tiff, png, etc) and have no file size limit. But, if you prefer to not have to register, there are several image hosting sites like Imageplay.net, http://tinypic.com/, http://beta.photobucket.com/, http://www.flickr.com/, and others. Imageplay is the other most commonly used one for message boards such as ours.

However, Imageplay.net changed their style a little while ago too and we can't say that we really care for it (after a couple of image loads, it sometimes won't let you load more, giving you a 404 error, and you can't re-size the images like you used to be able to do), but here is a tutorial in case you prefer to not register a free account on Imageshack.us.

To upload a photo onto Imageplay.net now, you can click on the Add an Image hyperlink button near the top of the forum (next to View Unanswered Posts, View Active Topics and The Ring hyperlinks), and you will get a page that currently looks like this:
Image

Drag and drop the image you would like to upload into the Black box and it should start immediately uploading. If it doesn't, it's likely because it is a format that it does not accept (like TIFF files) or it is too large (bigger than 2MB). Once it finishes uploading, it will take you to this screen:

Image

Select Forum Code to highlight, and paste it directly into the Dialog Box here. It should come up automatically. If it doesn't, click the Direct Image Code instead
Image

Then you will need to add the Img tags to make the image show up.

What Does It Do - let's you add an image in your post
How Do You Do This:
Select Direct Image Link to highlight, copy and paste into Dialog Box: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/17 ... l001m.jpg/
To double-check that your image has posted successfully, click "Preview" to look at what your post will look like before clicking "Submit". Don't forget to click Submit, or your post won't show up for the rest of us![/list]

Through Imageshack.us you can select the size image you'd like to post (from Do Not Resize to avatar at 100 pixels to 21" monitor size of 1600x1200 pixels - we don't recommend going larger than the 17" monitor size of 1024 pixels because it makes the thread become over-sized then). The most common sizes are 320x240 pixels and 640 x 480 pixels (this is 640):

What Does It Do - let's you post a smaller image so it doesn't fill up the screen of your post, but lets users quickly see it larger by clicking on the image

How Do You Do This:
Upload an image to Imageshack.us or Imageplay.net or any photo hosting site you prefer.
Select Direct Image Link to copy and paste into Dialog Box: http://img17.imageshack.us/img17/8611/c ... al001m.jpg
Highlight and Click ThumbnailPop above to add code around direct image link.
