Hopefully, my post will cause you to examing the sincerity of your relationship. Deep feelings between two people are only shared with intimacy. Intimacy does not involve the whole community.
If displayed to the whole world, then you need to hire a PR agency.

Once again you know everything about intimacy and how and when it is expressed, much more the depth or sincerity of a relationship. Have you ever seen an old couple married 50 years holding hands, sharing a kiss, hugging, or overhearing them say I love you in public? Oh horrors, that must be profiling too. It certainly is a statement of the shallowness and insincerity of their relationship by your take. Ever hear the words about telling her you love her other than in the night? Intimacy and deep love has many expressions and is not reserved for private moments hidden from world view or consumption. When I want my wife to know I love her I could care less about sneaking off to a private spot to do so. I'll hug her, kiss her, tell her she looks stunning or how much I love her whenever that "shallow" feeling I have for her strikes me. And if I happen to be thousands of miles away from home, I may just want to use this forum and this thread as our room. If you wish to peak inside, that is your problem, not ours. We did not invite you, nor did we exclude you. If you wish to enter, do so at your own risk.

Do you really think that your public exibition will really be thought of as cute? That it makes you an exceptional couple? That you are the darling of all who see?
No, it makes you a public spectacle.

You know MB, I could give a hoot about public perception. I'm not interested in being cute for anyone's entertainment. I'm only interested in my relationship with my wife. It is not for me to judge whether we are or are not an exceptional couple. Again, what matters is the relationship we build between us. There is no right and wrong way as you may wish to perceive. I'm certainly mature enough to know who I am, to know that life is too short to care about what you or others may think, and to know how fortunate I am to have found my soul mate. Hence I go forth as I please as I do not subscribe to your dogmatic views on how one is to live life. Thanks for your opinion and lectures anyway, but you need not waste your time further as we are very comfortable with one another.

Once again VERY well said sweetheart. I HAVE NEVER given a crap-o-la what someone thought of me. I have always been extremely comfortable in my own skin and do as I damn well please. I don't look at any person or couple as exceptional, but I except each to do as they please and live their own life. MB can do as he pleases too, by giving his unsolicited opinion, but he will have to leave the conversation empty-handed.

Edited to add: Any public display of affection does not mean you love your significant other any more or any less than someone who doesn't show any public displays of affection. The same hold true vice versa. Some couples are more comfortable not showing any pda. I don't think that they love each other less than the couples who do. I had never thought of comfort regarding pda as a compatibility issue before. Thank you MB for bringing this to light for me. I don't think I could ever be with someone who was too different than me on politics and religion, I wouldn't want a mate who couldn't show me, or let me show him, how much I love him whenever, or wherever, I wanted. This is interesting and just another example of what Franz and I have in common. It's not something that we have ever addressed or noticed much before. Maybe we took it for granted. It truly astounds me when a couple can find so much they have in common and how much they view things in the same way. I have never had that before and it is something to be treasured. Great discussion today and thank you again for the insights MB. I love it............ and my darling husband.

...some things are so sacred, so sweet, so...hmmmm...they should be shared in a Secret Garden where only two hold the key...

Nice song. Thanks for sharing. We're creating our 'secret garden' at home right now, but it will never be a secret how much I love him and it sure doesn't mean our feelings toward another are any less sacred than any other couple.......not that I think you were trying to say that, but just thought I'd state it.
