Last month's hail storm not only shredded plants and flowers, but roofs and siding on buildings took quite a hit. Oftentimes it's the roof and landscape that get the TLC after such a storm, but your siding should also be inspected for damage.

Hail damage leaves dents in your siding and cracks and chips in your paint. By taking care of your home's hail damage right away, you can prevent having to replace all of the siding due to deterioration. Ignoring the repair and repaint of your siding leaves your home exposed to further cracking and chipping and opens the door to moisture seeping into the walls.

Putting a professional painting company on the job can save you time and money down the road. Your siding will be powerwashed to remove any chips and expose damaged areas. Sanding, caulking and other appropriate methods of repair will fill in dents and prepare the surface for its new coat of paint. Surface preparation is key to having a paint job that will look great and last a long time.

When you get bids for repair and repaint of hail damage or any other painting project, be sure to ask how the company will prepare the surface. Also good to find out how (if?) they will clean up the area after the work is completed. A good company will leave your home looking fresh and the work area cleaned up ready for you to enjoy the investment you've made in your property.
