...MORE SNOW FOR NORTHEAST AND NORTH CENTRAL COLORADO...

.A STORM SYSTEM WILL MOVE EAST ACROSS COLORADO TONIGHT. RAIN AND
SNOW SHOWERS WERE ALREADY BEGINNING TO DEVELOP AHEAD OF THIS
SYSTEM LATE THIS AFTERNOON. SNOW WILL BECOME WIDESPREAD IN THE
MOUNTAINS AND FOOTHILLS BY EARLY EVENING...WHILE ON THE PLAINS
RAIN WILL DEVELOP THROUGH THE EVENING BEHIND THE PASSAGE OF A COLD
FRONT. A QUICK CHANGEOVER TO SNOW IS EXPECTED MID TO LATE EVENING
AS COLDER AIR MOVES INTO THE REGION AND PRECIPITATION RATES
INCREASE. ONCE THE CHANGEOVER OCCURS ON THE PLAINS...THE SNOW MAY
BE HEAVY WITH SNOWFALL RATES OF 1 TO 2 INCHES PER HOUR. ROADS
WILL BECOME SNOW COVERED AND SLICK AS THE HEAVIER SNOW DEVELOPS.
TRAVELERS SHOULD BE ALERT FOR RAPIDLY CHANGING ROAD CONDITIONS AND
TRAFFIC SPEEDS.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN DENVER HAS ISSUED A WINTER
WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW...WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 AM MST
WEDNESDAY.

* TIMING...SNOW WILL DEVELOP THIS EVENING AND BECOME HEAVY AT
TIMES. THE SNOW IS EXPECTED TO DECREASE LATE TONIGHT.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...5 TO 10 INCHES.

* WIND/VISIBILITY...NORTHEAST WINDS 10 TO 15 MPH. VISIBILITIES
WILL BE REDUCED TO A QUARTER MILE OR LESS DURING PERIODS OF
HEAVY SNOW.

* IMPACTS...ROADS WILL BECOME SNOW COVERED AND SLICK AS THE
HEAVIER SNOW DEVELOPS. HAZARDOUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS CAN BE
ANTICIPATED FROM THIS EVENING INTO THE EARLY MORNING HOURS
WEDNESDAY.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW
WILL CAUSE PRIMARILY TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR SNOW
COVERED ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES...AND USE CAUTION WHILE
DRIVING.
