Kaipo is just 7.5 months old. She is a big beautiful Rotti/Lab mix. She was adopted with her sister and the girls love life on the 5 acre orchard but unfortunately as they are growing up the girls are too much for their mom to handle. The girls are loosing their dad to cancer; hospice says maybe a week or two more. Through all of this, their mom has had a stroke. She is suffering from severe vertigo attacks and after several falls and she cannot care for both of these big girls, the livestock and the orchard alone. Kaipo is already 55/60 pounds and she is solid. She is current on her vaccines and spayed. She has been around livestock and a kitty. She is a feisty girl; she loves to go explore and visit the neighboring orchards even though she has 5 fenced acres of her own; she can get out and go explore. A solid fence is a must for this girl to keep her safe in the city/and mountains.

Kaipo means sweetheart in Hawaiian and she is definitely a big sweetheart. It is tearing her mom's heart out to make this choice. Kaipo's sister is more of a homebody and a has a calmer personality and is learning to be a service dog easier than Kaipo is adjusting to the new role. Kaipo wants to play and she likes to play play play and due to her sheer size and weight she is knocking her mom down since she is so unsteady on her feet.

Kaipo might do best in a home with a male dog or a non-dominate female dog as she seems to want to be alpha (or at least with her sister she does.) She loves human attention and she thinks she is one big lap doggie. She will do anything for a special treat!

Can you foster or adopt this amazing beautiful big Rotti/Lab mix girl? Put in an application today at http://www.eapl.com If you have any questions re Kaipo you can contact EAPL. This family is suffering so much already, we cannot believe they now also have to loose one of their girls too. So much loss for a wonderful family. We are hoping we can make this transition easier for the mom to know that her big girl Kaipo has found a perfect home.
