Your subject line says "including campfires" which only applies to the fire districts. The state and national lands are not bound by any of our local fire districts' edicts.

:yeahthat: most camping areas open still allow fires in the furnished pits. But we have NFSLE that patrols the camping areas.
Hopefully we get some moisture as prescribed this weekend.

Surprised we were not already banned in Park. I had a self-imposed ban on my wood stove a month ago. :)

A-basin is closing this weekend, and Breckenridge golf course is opening early.

We are like a month ahead of schedule this year for warm temps and snow melt.

About time for Parkco. When driving through Jeffco there were posts everywhere saying fire ban in effect. Then drive into Parkco which is even dryer and there weren't any. Now maybe the idiot with the campfires will cease. But not counting on it. All the fire dept does is show up and say you can't do that and they say oh, we didn't know and nothing else happens. I expect he or another idiot will be the ones who give us Hi Meadow 3. Just have to hope the wind isn't blowing.

USFSLaw Enforcement was busy over the last few weekends with calls about giant campfires on 550. The idiocy is mindboggling.

Guess many people didn't learn anything from the LNFF. Even when you think a fire is out, it might not be. All we need is high wind and off it goes.

Can anyone tell me the last time a campfire was responsible for a wildfire? I think we should ban state employees instead.

Hey brainiac, let's talk about all the campfires on the east side of Burland that jumped their illegal campfire and were stopped before they became major wildfires by people who were actually keeping an eye out for them.

 I'm for banning all state employees who do negligent controlled burns.

Where area there campgrounds on the east side of Burland?
I will volunteer to go to that campground and fill the fire pits with concrete.
