You see... your answer betrays the fact that you have been infected with liberal clap-trap... that movie is not wrong in ANY way.

You are probably right. I was watching the DVD last year with my dad and we would laugh at parts but they were uncomfortable at times.

the film already has some Arab-Americans complaining about its damaging portrayal of Arabs.

Oh come off the politically correct BS. Anyone who has observed Arab politics knows that Arab tyrants themselves already do plenty with respect to damaging portrayal of Arabs.

And that is what this movie is about. I saw it opening day. It portrays the dictator (satirically) for just what he is, what all dictators. The movie actually present the other middle eastern characters (the populace and ex-pats) as rather resourceful and scientifically advanced (the only neanderthal is the dictator). This movie is not an indictment of Arab people... unless you are Arabic and have designs to become a dictator.

So is it worth seeing at the theater or wait for the dvd?

I rarely spend more than 2 to 4 dollars for a movie, and I use Netflix for most everything else. But I didn't want to wait and see this months from now. I enjoyed it, but I have to cop that I am a BIG Cohen fan, and more so a fan of anything politically incorrect. So I may not be the most unbiased critic.

The movie is still Cohen's "fish out of water" shtick, but this time done with actors who are working from a script, not members of the unsuspecting public working with Cohen and his performance art outlines. It runs the gamut of everything from bathroom humor to very clever satire. Some scenes are not for the weak of stomach. But yes, I think there is a little of enough for any fan of comedy and current events satire.

It would be no more startling then if Monty Python was still doing contemporary comedy.

Well I like edgy comedy and love Monty Python. I also like Cohen but my wife despises him....guess I'll wait for the dvd in a few months.

No, I just don't like going to movies by myself..and my kids are not old enough to see a Cohen movie.
